The European Union Delegations to Iraq, Jordan and Yemen are looking for two Press & Information Officer based in Amman, Jordan.

The EU Delegation offers two positions of Press and Information Officers/Media Analysts in the Political, Press and Information Sections of the Delegations to Jordan and to Yemen to contribute, under the supervision of the Heads of Section, to the fulfilment of the Delegations’ Information and Communication policy, particularly in analysing trends and developments in the information environment in Jordan, Iraq and Yemen, including with regard to regional issues. The jobholder will be based in Amman.

Functions and duties

The successful candidates will perform the following tasks under the supervision and responsibility of the relevant Head of Section:

  • Assist in developing and executing information analysis, communication and media activities to improve the visibility of and knowledge about the EU;
  • Analyse trends and developments in the information environment in Jordan, Yemen and Iraq, and provide recommendations for improving the understanding of the EU’s values, policies and projects, based on fact-based information and proactive communication;
  • Contribute to the drafting and implementation of the Delegations’ social media strategies;
  • Establish and maintain a network of key information environment experts in the countries concerned, who could support with monitoring and awareness-raising activities;
  • Design, implement and coordinate campaigns, carry out local outreach events and communication projects on specific issues and priorities, including media information on the EU and its partnership and cooperation with Jordan, Yemen and Iraq;
  • Closely cooperate with the EEAS Strategic Communication Task Forces;
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Heads of Section or Head of Delegation;
  • Cooperate with and replace the other Press and Information Officers in their absence.
