The EU Delegation to Syria offers a post of Political Officer. Upon recruitment, the successful candidate will occupy the specific function of Political Officer. This job function may however evolve in accordance with the needs of the Delegation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision and responsibility of the relevant Head of Political, Press and Information Section and perform the following tasks:
- identify and analyse political and economic developments in Syria
- assist in drafting reports aimed at informing EU Headquarters
- assist in monitoring press, social-media and other open sources active on Syria
- attending meetings/webinars on relevant topics
- perform other tasks, as designated by the Head of Section
S/he will work in a multicultural working environment. S/he will hold a fixed-term 3-year employment contract starting with a 3-month probationary period. The length of the working week shall be 37.5 working hours. The Delegation’s premises are located in City Hill bloc 61-10, Zokak El Blat, Rue Barbir, Beirut. The post falls under Group I. EU salaries in Lebanon are highly competitive. The exact amount will be communicated upon finalizing the recruitment.
