The overall objective of the EIDHR Country-Based Support Scheme (CBSS) is to support and strengthen civil society organisations, democracy activists and human rights defenders working on critical human rights and democracy issues in third countries. The actions financed under the CBBS are in line with the relevant EU guidelines as well as all other relevant policy documents such as the European Consensus and the 2015-2019 Action Plan on Human Rights and Democracy. A Rights Based Approach and the Gender mainstreaming represent two key features of the actions supported by the CBSS.

The global objective of this call for proposals is to support civil society efforts in the protection and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms in Lebanon.

The specific objective of this call for proposals is to support actions which seek to: i) support and promote the enjoyment of all human rights by LGBTI persons and protect them against discrimination; ii) the promotion and protection of the fundamental freedoms of expression and freedom of the media.

The priorities of this call for proposals are: i) the rights of LGBTI persons; and ii) freedom of expression and freedom of the media.

For the purpose of this call, proposals should focus only on one of the two aforesaid specific objectives and related priority.
