Within the framework of cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Algeria, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is responsible for the implementation of the “Support Programme for the Sector of Agriculture, including water management, agro-industry and agricultural pollution (PASA) in partnership with the National Institute of Agronomic Research of Algeria.
PASA is co-financed for a period of 48 months by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to support the development of the “dates” and “chilli” sectors in the Wilaya of Biskra and the “potato” sector in the Wilaya of El Oued.
For the promotion of Contract Agriculture systems in agricultural sectors, the PASA project mandated regional and international experts to train advisers on the Contract Agriculture approach adapted to the needs of stakeholders in PASA intervention regions in Biskra and El Oued.
