The Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) took part in the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the UfM Committee on Improving Quality Of Life, Exchanges Between Civil Societies and Culture, held in Rome this week.
UfM Deputy Secretary General, Delphine Borione, stressed that investing in youth and women, two UfM priorities, were central to fostering intercultural dialogue. “By reinforcing people’s skills and tools to promote dialogue within communities, we will be providing the most efficient response for preparing societies for the future,” she said.
The UfM is focusing its activity and projects in the fields of education, women’s empowerment, as well as mobility and employability of young people. One of the UfM flagship projects in this area is the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes, which will deliver, among others, courses in Mediterranean History, Civilisations and Heritage.
