The EU-funded ‘Tfanen – Tunisie Creative’ programme has launched its first Call for proposals for the Tunisian cultural sector, with a budgetary envelope of EUR 600.000 within the frame of the “Local Cultural Engagement Fund in Tunisia”.

Within this call, Tfanen – Tunisie Creative will provide financial support between EUR 20.000 and 50.000 per proposal (3 months minimum and 12 months maximum per project). Proposals promoting access to culture at local level, in particular in the disadvantaged regions, and those managed within a network of multiple partners (such as civil society organizations, public bodies, independent cultural actors) will be favoured. In line with the objectives of the programme, special attention shall be given to proposals with a focus on youth and women.

The deadline for submissions to this call for proposals is 10 March 2017, 9pm (Tunis time).

Tfanen – Tunisie Creative is a programme funded by the EU in partnership with the EUNIC network (European Union National Institutes for Culture) and implemented by the British Council, to support the strengthening of the cultural sector in Tunisia. It aims to contribute in the long run to the strengthening of civil society, the consolidation of democracy and to the sustainable professionalisation of cultural sectors in Tunisia. Its objective is to reinforce the creative economy, as well as the role of culture as a vector for social cohesion at local, regional and national level.

Tfanen – Tunisie Creative will support different cultural operators, such as actors from civil society and individual artists through grant programmes based on Call for proposals. A budgetary envelope of EUR 2,4 million is available under Tfanen – Tunisie Creative for the period from February 2017 to May 2019.
