On 3-4 September, the second Strategic and Operational Planning Workshop was held in Jericho for 14 senior Palestinian Civil Police (PCP) officers from Bethlehem, Hebron and Jericho Districts, including the Southern District Commanders and Planning Officers.

This is the second of three workshops given in the districts and follows on the heels of the Strategic and Operational Planning Course that was held in Ramallah in April/May for 30 Senior PCP Officers, including the four Goal Group Owners.

As with the first district workshop held in August in Nablus for the Northern District PCP Officers, the Southern Districts PCP officers received valuable training to develop the skills and abilities to translate the PCP Strategic Plan 2017-2022 into District Operational Plans. These plans will better serve the needs of the Palestinian people in those districts. Similar Planning Workshops will also be held for the Senior PCP Officers in the Central and Southern Districts in the upcoming weeks.

EUPOL COPPS played an important role in the planning of this workshop and in presenting on International Strategic and Operational Planning standards.

EUPOL COPPS is the European Union Co-ordinating Office for Palestinian Police Support. The aim of the Mission is to contribute to the establishment of sustainable and effective policing arrangements and to advise Palestinian counterparts on criminal justice and rule of law related aspects under Palestinian ownership.
