EUBAM Rafah (The European Union Border Assistance Mission at the Rafah Crossing Point) held its first “Leadership Development” workshop early this month. It was the first of a series of three leadership trainings targeting top General Administration for Borders and Crossings (GABC) managers.

Eight participants sat for the training that aimed at further developing the existing leadership skills of the top managers through tackling basic leadership topics including but not limited to; leadership vs. management, vision, theories and effective practice, decision making, managing change and delegation.

The workshop came as the outcome of a training needs assessment session held by EUBAM Head of Mission and GABC management in the previous mandate and in response to the needs of the Mission’s counterparts.

The European Union Border Assistance Mission at the Rafah Crossing Point – code name EUBAM Rafah – was launched in November 2005 to monitor the operations of the border crossing point between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, after Israel and the Palestinian Authority concluded an Agreement on Movement and Access on 15 November 2005.
