National Charter of Environment and Sustainable Development : launch of an institutional twinning between European Union and Morocco

On 21 January, as part of the EU-funded implementation of the “Support for Morocco’s Competitiveness and Green Growth” program, a launching seminar of the European Union-Morocco institutional twinning for support of the implementation of the National Charter of environment and sustainable development took place in Rabat.

The seminar was chaired by Aziz Rebbah, Minister of Energy, Mines and Environment, Claudia WIEDEY, Ambassador of the European Union to Morocco, Hélène Le Gal, Ambassador of France to Morocco and Klaus Kögeler, Ambassador of Austria to Morocco.

The main objective of the twinning is to support the implementation of the National Charter for the Environment and Sustainable Development of Morocco which promotes the balance between the environmental, economic and social dimensions, with the aim of improving the framework for citizens, strengthening the sustainable management of natural resources and promoting environmentally friendly economic activities.
