The European Union for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has funded the construction of a water treatment plant in Morocco.
The new facility has a capacity of 250 litres per second. Thanks to a 40 km extension of pipes, the network is providing drinking water to over 140,000 people in the city of Ouarzazate, southern central Morocco, and neighbouring villages.
The Ouarzazate project is part of a €65 million investment programme financed by the EBRD to improve the drinking water supply to three medium-sized Moroccan cities and 260 rural communities in the regions of Azilal, Ben Guerir and Ouarzazate, including a nationwide programme for performance improvement.
