The EU-funded Med Dialogue for Rights and Equality is organising a roundtable on “the environmental challenges in the Mediterranean” on 29 January in Tunis, Tunisia. This public debate comes in the framework of the first Med Dialogue Fellows Bootcamp organised by the project.

The event will gather thirty participants from 10 Southern Mediterranean countries. It aims at familiarizing them with the principles of ecology and making them aware of the environmental challenges that the countries of the region are facing.

The participants will have the opportunity to visit local organisations for environment preservation and discover their projects. During this training, the participants will be asked to develop a joint regional action which will be simultaneously implemented in different countries through events, initiatives and advocacy campaigns.

This roundtable will tackle man-made climate and environmental change in the Mediterranean region as well as the policies and joint actions carried out to meet these challenges.

Med Dialogue for Rights and Equality is an EU-funded Technical Assistance Programme with the overall objective to strengthen the role of CSOs active at the regional scale, in building sustainable development, regional cohesion and resilience, as well as in influencing policy-making in the Southern Neighborhood and the Euro-Mediterranean Space. ‘Mobilising local communities on regional issues of common concerns to influence the agenda of public decision-makers and regional institutions, and involve CSOs in emerging regional agendas and thematic dialogues’ is its core attribute.
