The EU-funded PPRD South 3 held a second sub-regional workshop with Jordan and Palestine to edit action plans following the Disaster Risk Reduction national strategies. While most countries have strategic plans or plans based on the Sendai framework, it is still difficult to understand how to link them to the drafting and implementation of action plans. Hence the aim was to propose mechanisms to translate the main lines of a risk reduction strategy plan into an effective action plan.

This workshop allowed the participants to better understand the link between strategy and preparation for a better operational response, to carry out practical exercises based on the identified needs of the partner countries and to use standard canvas with declination for coordination centres.

The overall objective of EU-funded PPRD South 3 is to contribute to increasing resilience and reducing the social, economic and environmental costs of natural and man-made disasters in the ENP South region, based on the results of the PPRD South Program and the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM).
