International Partnership Morocco – European Union. Support for the institutional reform and increase in the capabilities of the Higher Institute of Magistrates

Within the framework of the partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the European Union, a midterm conference on the Morocco/European Union partnership project: “Support for the institutional reform and increase in the capabilities of the Higher Institute of Magistrates” was held on Wednesday 28th November 2018 at the Higher Institute of Magistrates in Rabat.

 

Mr Lahkim BENNANI, General Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Mr Alessio Cappellani, deputy head of the European Union delegation to Morocco, Mr RAF VAN RANSBEECK director of the Belgian Judicial Training Institute and Mr Olivier LEURENT director of the French National School of Magistrates presided over the opening of this event, the objective of which was to draw up a summary of the actions taken during the first quarter of this partnership.

 

Three round tables were organised during this conference. The debates focussed on how to make this partnership a instrument for implementing the judicial system reform Charter and how to help guide the political choices that should be made as regards governance and teaching according to international standards and good practices.
