Yesterday, the Head of EUPOL COPPS Mission, Mr. Kauko Aaltomaa welcomed the new head of the Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH), a civilian observer mission stationed in the West Bank city of Hebron.
Mr. Kauko briefed Mr. Einar H. Ass and the outgoing TIPH Head of Mission, Brigadier General Einar Johnsen on the Mission’s Mandate, its daily activities as well as the areas of most significant progress. Mr. H. Ass showed particular interest in the operational undertakings of the Mission. They also exchanged views on the situation in Hebron, and especially area H2 where there is very little law enforcement activities due to the political situation.
Mr. A. Ass expressed commended the good work done by the Mission Members in support of their Palestinian counterparts. The meeting was also attended by other senior Mission Members.
