The newsletter Inside Femise n°18 reviews the events organised by FEMISE recently such as the annual conference on sustainable development, in its broad sense, in the Mediterranean region, or the workshop on “Social Entrepreneurship in the MENA Region: Inclusiveness and Growth”.

FEMISE presents to its readers an overview of the wide range of policy briefs and reports published these months. Various topics were addressed: Empowering Women and Gender Equality, Long-Term Impact of Syrian Refugees on Turkish Economy, EU’s Pursuit of “Resilience” in Southern Mediterranean countries, climate emergency, etc.

In FEMISE news, the newsletter reminds of the strategic partnerships the network concluded with key regional stakeholders such as the Mediterranean Youth Climate Network and Institut de la Méditerranée for the Environment and Youth in the Mediterranean, or Altafemina for women.

The issues of environmental taxation and assessment of existing policy measures on women empowerment are also tackled in “Med Change Makers”, a series of text and video-based interviews that allow dynamic FEMISE researchers to illustrate how their research addresses a policy-relevant question and contributes to the policy-making process in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
