The European Union supports Egypt in its efforts to improve solid waste management

The European Union supports Egypt in its efforts to improve solid waste management with a grant of 20 million euros for four governorates in Egypt (Kafr El-Sheikh, Gharbeia, Assiut and Qena). The EU, the Minister of Environment and the Kafr el Sheikh governor celebrated the handover of supplies under the Egyptian National Solid Waste Management Programme – NSWMP funded by the EU and other European donors.

“There is an opportunity for change, innovation and transformation that lies behind the pressing environmental challenges we face today,” declared Ambassador Ivan Surkoš, Head of the EU Delegation to Egypt.
