An EU-funded seminar under the project “Technical Assistance to Support the Promotion of Social Dialogue in Lebanon” on the role of the Ministry of Labor as a key element in the promotion of social dialogue in Lebanon was attended by more than 50 representatives of the social partners in the Saida Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

Saeed Dakour, president of the workers’ union and users of the oil installations in Zahrani and a participant in the seminar, said: “This symposium is important because it aims at opening the dialogue between all elements of production such as employers, workers, competent ministries and social security. It further aims to achieve a social contract that reconciles the demands of workers and the interests of employers.”
