In the framework of the regional EU-OECD Programme on Promoting Investment in the Mediterranean, a workshop on the theme “Investment climate in Algeria and investor-state dispute settlement” was held on 11-12 November in Algiers, Algeria.

The workshop began with a roundtable on investment climate which focussed on reform priorities to attract investors and develop the private sector. The roundtable was followed by working sessions and capacity-building sessions on the international legal framework applicable to investment and the settlement of investor-state disputes.

The EU-OECD Programme on Promoting Investment in the Mediterranean, launched in October 2016 in Tunis, supports efforts to boost the quality and quantity of investment to and within the Mediterranean region. Working in partnership with governments and institutions, the Programme engages in regional and national actions to create more robust and coherent investment policies and strategies.
