From 12th to 22nd of March, ten Tunisian National Guard trainers were trained in Oued Zarga, Tunisia, by a team of the European Gendarmerie Force (EUROGENDFOR) to reinforce their knowledge in terms of operational rescue aiming at assisting the wounded during antiterrorist operations. This training ended with the presentation of certificates to the ten trainees by Patrice Bergamini, EU Ambassador to Tunisia.

In May 2017, The EUROGENDFOR already trained 50 members of the Tunisian National Guard on operational rescue, before inviting the following month, two members of the central dog unit to an international seminar organised by the French Gendarmerie, on the new techniques for detecting explosives.

In November 2017, 12 Tunisian National Guard trainers were trained on responses to implement to improvised explosive devices.

A seminar on the use of social media by terrorists was held in February 2018 in the headquarters of the Tunisian National Guard in Tunis.

These different training actions were held by experts coming from 7 member states of the EUROGENDFOR that gathers gendarmerie forces from Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Netherlands, Poland and Romania.

This support, integrated into a global project to fight against terrorism, is implemented by CIVIPOL and funded by the European Union. It is the result of a collaboration agreed upon between the Tunisian National Guard and EUROGENDFOR, and endorsed by an agreement and an action plan, under the auspices of the Tunisian Ministry of Interior and the EU Delegation to Tunisia.
