After the successful first edition of “Med Dialogue Leaders” dedicated to the ecological challenges, the EU-funded Med Dialogue for Rights and Equality project has now launched its second edition with the organization of a capacity development bootcamp for 32 young leaders, focusing on “Entrepreneurship for social and solidarity economy”.

Due to the very recent Covid-19 developments, the bootcamp will take place online on 14-18 October 2020 and will gather participants from 10 Arab countries (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia).

The three public sessions will be broadcasted live on the project’s Facebook page according to the following agenda:

-16 October: Virtual field visit to “Istanbul City Lab Experience Center” (a well-known urban innovation hub) to debate about implemented innovative projects.

-16 October: Virtual debate with economist Leonardo Becchetti on new trends in economy in Europe.

-17 October: Virtual debate with entrepreneur Mohamed Madhkour on the new Tunisian Law for social and solidarity economy.

Med Dialogue for Rights and Equality is an EU-funded Technical Assistance Programme with the overall objective to strengthen the role of CSOs active at the regional scale, in building sustainable development, regional cohesion and resilience, as well as in influencing policy-making in the Southern Neighbourhood and the Euro-Mediterranean Space. ‘Mobilising local communities on regional issues of common concerns to influence the agenda of public decision-makers and regional institutions, and involve CSOs in emerging regional agendas and thematic dialogues’ is its core attribute.
