TunisiaEU-funded D-JIL selects eight projects to be awarded grants
Eight projects from Algeria, Palestine, Morocco, Lebanon, Syria and Libya were selected to be awarded grants. These 8 winners were chosen from 250 digital projects that were received.
30 projects were pre-selected to participate in hackathons in Tunis and Amman in March. These events served as a full-scale test of the viability of the projects. The teams, made up of journalists, web developers, graphic designers and designers, were pitched against each other in a fun competition to produce and build on the best presentation of their project.
Co-funded by the European Commission and implemented by CFI, D-Jil aims to support young citizens in the Arab world through the media. Its overall objective is to contribute to the active citizenship and empowerment of young people in the target countries of the southern neighbourhood by using online media as a vector.
