Twenty-three law enforcement representatives from Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Lebanon, Jordan, France and Romania took part in a training on the dark web and virtual currencies. The event was held on 5-8 March in Bucharest, Romania, in the framework of the EU-funded CyberSouth Project.

The goal of the training was to provide the officers with competencies to perform online investigations on the dark web with enhanced knowledge on the internet, bitcoins and other crypto currencies, google hacks, social media and open source intelligence.

CyberSouth is a joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe. It contributes to the prevention and control of cybercrime and other offences involving electronic evidence in the region of the Southern Neighbourhood, in line with international human rights and rule of law standards and good practices.
