The EU Delegation to Israel together with the Israel AIDS Taskforce and other partners supported the annual “Wigstock” event in Tel Aviv, which coincided with the beginning of the Pride Week. Wigstock brought drag performers to an outdoor public event attended by around 500 people from the LGBTI community, families and the general public. The event illustrated the EU’s commitment to promoting and protecting the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) persons. Wigstock is a celebration of the strides that the LGBTI community has made in seeking equality, non-discrimination and protection in Israel.
