The Integrated Border Management (IBM) project was launched on 18 November in Amman, Jordan. The event was attended by the Director of General Security, General Fadel Al-Homoud, Ms. Maria Hadjitheodosiou, EU Ambassador to Jordan, Ms. Cristina Albertin, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Representative for the Middle East and North Africa, Mr Julien Simon, Regional Coordinator for the Mediterranean at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), representatives of the security services operating at the border posts, international partners, and NGOs.

In the four years of implementation period, IBM will contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and more specifically, it will contribute to a significant reduction of the illicit financial and arms flows, strengthen the recovery and return of stolen assets and combat all forms of organized crime while strengthening the relevant national institutions capacity, at all levels to prevent violence and combat terrorism and crime.
