The latest edition of Emerging Valley, real gateway between African and European tech, is taking place on 3-5 December 2019 in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, France. This international summit attracts investors, African start-ups and emerging digital ecosystems that want to increase their international appeal, expand their business relationships and accelerate their impact on a global scale.

In the context of this event, the Euro-Mediterranean Forum of Institutes of Economic Sciences (FEMISE) and Institut de la Méditerranée (IM) are organising a workshop entitled “Social Change Makers, Act 2 : Empowering Women and Youth Leaders in the Mediterranean and Africa” on 4 December in Aix-en-Provence. The goal of this workshop is twofold: It will bring together women and youth entrepreneurs from both shores of the Mediterranean with the aim of sharing good practices, establishing business relationship and showing how powerful the role of women and youth in the economic development of the region can be. It will also give voice to North and South actors that support women-led and youth-led entrepreneurship and initiatives. In particular, it will involve mentors, business capability multipliers, networking support players and financing sustainable finance actors that provide either financial support or training in business education and skills to future success-stories.

In 2019, EMERGING Valley pays tribute to the digital relationships between Europe and Africa through a strategic partnership with the European Commission which aims to bring people together and build bridges between the digital ecosystems in the EU and Africa.
