Egypt: The ambassador of the EU delegation visited the EU-funded project in Fayoum governorate

Rural development is amongst the top priorities of European Union cooperation in Egypt. The European Union Joint Rural Development Programme funded by the EU and implemented by Italian Development Cooperation, is an excellent model of the rural development partnership with Egypt.
Ambassador Ivan Surkoš, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Egypt, and Italian Ambassador Giampaolo Cantini visited several activities developed within the framework of the EU-funded project in Fayoum governorate. The two Ambassadors also met with Fayoum Governor. Fayoum is amongst the Egyptian governorates that benefited from 220 million Egyptian pounds of EU grants allocated to support rural development in Egypt.
