The EU remains committed to encouraging trade between the EU and the partner countries in the South. It offers to grant partners access to the European market. Agreements on a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area are currently under negotiation with Morocco and Tunisia. This will lead to the gradual economic integration of partners in the EU internal market and therefore to the creation of an economic area. For those who do not wish to engage in negotiations for a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, the EU seeks to jointly determine attractive and realistic alternatives to promote integration and strengthen trade and investment relations that reflect mutual interests.
