Valdis Dombrovskis, who is Vice-President of the European Commission for the Euro and Social Dialogue and also in charge of Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union, is in Ukraine from 28 February until 1 March.
He is to meet President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova.
On 28 February, Dombrovskis attended a flower-laying ceremony at Maidan Square with Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and delivered a speech at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
On 1 March, he is to visit Zaporizhia and Berdyansk to participate in a round table at the Berdyansk State Pedagogical University and to attend the opening ceremony of a rehabilitation centre for children with disabilities.
“For our part – for the part of the European Union – the answer is clear. We will continue to keep our door open. We will help you to create the right conditions for prosperity and peace. You have our support: political, financial and technical. The rest is up to you,” said Dombrovskis in his speech at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
