Three schools in Sumy will be thermally insulated as part of the EU-supported “Increasing energy efficiency in educational buildings of Sumy city” Project. The project started in 2018 as part the second phase of the EU’s “Covenant of Mayors – Demonstration Projects” programme.

The insulation will help the schools to reduce their energy consumption by 58% and lower СО2 emissions by 45%. The students and staff will also profit from more comfortable conditions.

“Increasing energy efficiency in schools is another step towards sustainable energy development in the city of Sumy,” said Mayor of Sumy Oleksandr Lysenko.
