The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has shared a story about a legal advice clinic set up by three friends from Mariupol State University. The clinic aims to help people to rebuild their lives without being afraid of the financial implications.

Thanks to their participation in UNICEF’s ‘UPSHIFT’ programme and a grant of UAH 50,000 (approximately €1,500) from UNICEF and the EU, the three friends were able to repair and furnish an office at their university and set up their legal advice clinic Studconsult.

Inna Mykhailenko, Roman Shamara and Violetta Dresviannikova have spent the last six months finding solutions to dozens of complex legal cases, including helping an orphan to receive backdated social security payments and a woman to access medical treatment.
