On 25 September, the EU Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform Ukraine (EUAM Ukraine) opened a new field office in Mariupol.

This is the fourth EUAM office in Ukraine since the Mission’s establishment in December 2014. EUAM’s other three field offices, in addition to its headquarters in Kyiv, are in Kharkiv, Lviv and Odesa.

The new field office is part of the EU’s continued commitment to support Ukraine on its path to reform. It will help regional Ukrainian authorities in the Donetsk region to achieve reform of the civilian security sector. The support will be provided through strategic advice, training, mentoring and equipment donations.

EUAM works closely with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice, as well as with institutions such as the National Police, Prosecution Service, Security Service, State Border Guard Service and Customs Service, as well as the judiciary.
