On 6 April, representatives of the fishing industry gathered in the Georgian city of Batumi for a conference entitled “Fisheries for the Economic Development of the Country”.
The participants included representatives from governmental and non-governmental organisations from Georgia, Ukraine, Turkey, Norway, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Prior to the conference, participants visited fish farms in Keda municipality to share and exchange knowledge and experience, as well as to plan future activities through mutual cooperation.
The conference was organised in the framework of the fish festival held in Batumi last week.
The events were supported through the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) in Georgia.
