A Family Physician Centre, open in Hagimus, a village in Căușeni District of Moldova, now serves locals and other inhabitants of the south suburban area of the city of Bender.

The EU has allocated €123,550 to this project in the framework of its “Confidence Building Measures” programme, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme. The local community has also contributed more than €23,000.

The centre contains physiotherapy rooms with adapted furniture and modern medical equipment. It is located in a facility with autonomous heating, water system and sewerage.

In the eight months since the opening of the new facility, 3,500 people have registered with the new Family Physician Centre, including 600 people from the left bank of the river Dniester.

This is one of the more than 80 pieces of infrastructure refurbished in the framework of the EU’s “Confidence Building Measures” programme, which contributes to building confidence among the inhabitants of both banks of the Dniester River.
