Jean-Claude Juncker sends congratulation letter to newly appointed Prime Minister of Ukraine

On 3 September, the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, sent a letter to the newly elected Prime Minister of Ukraine, Oleksiy Honcharuk.

“We would like to warmly congratulate you on your appointment as Prime Minister of Ukraine,” Juncker wrote. “You can count on our [the EU’s] continued steadfast support to Ukraine.”

“The European Union remains committed to supporting a peaceful resolution to the conflict in the east of Ukraine and the affected communities, and is unwavering in its non-recognition of the illegal annexation of the Crimean peninsula,” the letter highlighted.
