Representatives of the Government of Georgia met members of civil society, local authorities and communities in Borjomi on 6 November to give them an overview of the progress achieved in rural development under the national strategy 2017-2020.

Key priority areas for 2021-2027 were also discussed at the meeting.

The discussion was organised under the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD), as part of a broader effort to promote rural development in Georgia.

Some of the issues discussed at the meeting referred to economic and employment opportunities, local business development and the effective protection of the environment and natural resources.
