On 18 November, the Georgian village Chiauri in Lagodekhi municipality hosted a Mechanization Field Day for local farmers and stakeholders.
Machinery suppliers of Lagodekhi had the opportunity to observe and test tractors and other agricultural equipment showcased by Agromotors, one of the suppliers in Georgia.
In addition, they learned about the benefits of conservation agriculture and minimum-tillage of soil and had the opportunity to see specialised equipment used for this purpose.
These agricultural practices reduce the risks and impact of climate change and increase productivity sustainably, reducing greenhouse gases emissions.
The event was organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) under the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD), as part of the broader effort to promote rural development in Georgia.
