On 10 October, the Energy Charter Secretariat, together with the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus and the EU Delegation to Belarus, held a communication workshop on stakeholder consultation and inter-ministerial coordination in Minsk. Participants included officials from the Ministry of Energy, external energy experts and representatives of NGOs, as well as other organisations.

The goal of the event was to provide support for organising public participation in the policymaking process of the country’s energy sector. EU4Energy provided tailor-made recommendations in the form of a “Code of Good Practice” for Belarus, which would be coordinated by the Ministry of Energy. In addition, regular public consultations will be held during the policymaking process.

The event is part of the EU4Energy Programme of the European Union. The Energy Charter Secretariat is an implementing partner responsible for delivering technical assistance to Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belarus.
