On 16 March, experts from Germany, Finland and Spain will visit Ukraine to support the country’s efforts to boost educational funding reform. The event has been organised by the European Commission’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) in co-operation with the country’s Ministry of Education and Science and Education Reforms Office.

The aim of the TAIEX mission is to provide officials in the country with information on best practice in the EU Member States in education funding.

The event will focus on ways to organise and fund education under a market economy with a special focus on recent trends and developments in the educational services market. During this workshop, methodologies and formulas for the calculation of costs of educational services will be presented for further discussion between EU and Ukrainian experts. The experts will also discuss in detail education revenues and expenditures.

TAIEX is a demand-driven tool that supports partner countries with the adaptation of national laws, regulations and quality standards to match those of EU Member States in the framework of Cooperation or Association Agreements signed with the EU. In the Eastern Neighbourhood, TAIEX works with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
