The EU continues to support initiatives aimed at reducing the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on vulnerable groups across Armenia. One of the recent projects such support is being provided is the ‘Eastern Partnership COVID-19 Solidarity Programme’.

With EU support, the Shirak and Lori regions’ ‘People in Need’ organisation has started to implement projects targeting mothers of children with disabilities, elderly people and people who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

Beneficiaries of the EU’s Eastern Partnership COVID-19 Solidarity Programme include: Armenian women from the remote region of Shirak who have lost their jobs; internally displaced people and ethnic minorities in Georgia who need improved access to legal and other services; and the families of children with cancer in Moldova who lack personal protective equipment.
