Over 20 representatives from Georgian micro businesses participated in a training seminar on agritourism development organised in April through the EU4Business initiative.
The participants learned how to use opportunities created by increasing the flow of visitors to the country, particularly to Mukhrani district in eastern Georgia. Along with its exceptional wine and food, Mukhrani is home to the history of the Georgian Royal Family and the remains of an ancient Roman city – the largest one in the country.
According to EU4Business, the main challenges facing potential beneficiaries wishing to work in tourism are lack of experience in the tourism sector, linked to a lack of information.
The training programme was designed to support the country’s agritourism sector, with Mukhrani selected as a pilot area for the project.
