Some 4.3 million hectares of Ukraine's fields are not registered with the state cadastre. These lands yield a harvest worth over 3 billion each year.

The regions of Mykolaiv and Odesa have the biggest shadow markets for agricultural products with almost 800,000 hectares of unregistered crops.

The findings were shared in a crop monitoring report developed under the programme ‘Supporting transparent land governance in Ukraine’. The report was initiated by the World Bank and funded by the EU.
