The European Union is launching a new EU for Integrity Programme to support its Eastern partners in open government reforms and the fight against corruption, with a high-level online event on 20 May.

The three-year programme is funded by the European Union and implemented by the OECD and the Open Government Partnership (OGP).

Registration for the launch event is open, with participants invited to join a discussion on advancing open government reforms in the region, with high-level speakers from the EU, OECD, OGP, national authorities and civil society organisations.

The rule of law, functioning democratic institutions and an active civil society are crucial aspects of the democratic transformation of the Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine). To tackle these challenges and support better results, the EU for Integrity programme will support partner countries in implementing evidence-based anti-corruption policies, supporting the enforcement of anti-corruption legislation by providing a set of performance indicators to monitor progress. The programme will also scale up support to governments and civil society, using OGP action plans to advance critical reforms and work with partner countries to implement them.

The launch event takes place on Zoom at 16.00 CET on 20 May, with English-Russian interpretation provided. Participants can register at any point.
