Under the EU–Ukraine Association Agreement, Ukrainian food manufacturers are required to introduce safety control procedures based on the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system.
The system serves to identify dangerous products at the production stage and, therefore, avoid losses, unnecessary costs or food contamination.

The article is written by experts from the EU project ‘Improvement of legislation, control and awareness in food safety, animal health and welfare in Ukraine’.
