On 2-4 December, experts from Italy and Portugal visited Georgia to provide recommendations regarding the development of a risk management strategy for movable and immovable monuments during emergency situations to help implement an action plan in the country.

During the mission, EU Member State experts shared best practices and, together with different stakeholders, analysed the current situation of the country and discussed measures to improve the risk preparedness of state museums, museum reserves and major heritage sites.

The expert mission is organised by the European Commission’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) in cooperation with Georgia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.
