The EU has provided a grant for the reconstruction of Luhansk State Medical University, following the institution’s relocation to the city of Rubizhne due to the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine.

In December 2019, the university and the EU Delegation to Ukraine signed a grant agreement for the three-year project ‘Support to the reconstruction and development of Luhansk State Medical University’.

The EU grant of €900,000 will be used to repair the premises, equip a research laboratory, build a sports complex and purchase a minibus.

The EU supports a total of 10 relocated educational institutions in the government-controlled territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
