As part of the first phase of the ‘Solidarity for health initiative’ project, the EU recently supported a training of trainers programme at the Public Health and Reforms Centre of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan.

The project is implemented by the World Health Organization with EU funding, and focuses on strengthening the capacity of Eastern Neighbourhood countries, including Azerbaijan, to effectively prevent, prepare and respond to public health emergencies.

The EU is investing €30 million to assist the six Eastern partner countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine) in their efforts against the COVID-19 outbreak.
