On 9 July, the Armenian capital of Yerevan hosted a Horizon 2020 European Innovation Council's Roadshow.
During the event, new funding opportunities totalling €2.2 billion for the period 2021–2027 were presented. Armenian researchers and innovators can apply and use all the opportunities provided by the EU’s largest research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020, to build the bridge between European innovation hubs and Armenia.
The country could also benefit from opportunities offered by the EU through EASME (the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)) projects.
The Roadshow was organised with the support of the EU-SMEDA (Support to SME Development in Armenia) project, in cooperation with the EU Delegation to Armenia.
Horizon 2020 is the EU's biggest ever framework programme for financing and encouraging research and innovation projects, with a budget of €77 billion over seven years (2014–2020).
EASME has been set-up by the European Commission to manage on its behalf several EU programmes in the fields of SME support and innovation, environment, climate action, energy and maritime affairs.
