On 25 September, the ‘Yerevan energy efficiency’ project held a virtual ceremony on the signing of the construction contract for two preschools – No. 36 and No. 49.

The project aims to increase the energy efficiency and earthquake resilience of preschools. A total of 15 preschool buildings are expected to be fully renovated, while 75 will benefit from lighter renovations.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Wiktorin reiterated the EU’s commitment to tackle climate and environmental challenges and Europe’s aim to be the first climate-neutral continent by 2050.

The ‘Yerevan energy efficiency’ project is implemented by the Municipality of Yerevan with support from the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership, the European Investment Bank, the Green Climate Fund and the United Nations Development Programme.
