To mark Sevan Protection Day on 24 August, the European Union Water Initiative Plus for the Eastern Partnership (EUWI+), in co-operation with Armenian Ministry of Ecology, Water Resources Management Agency and Sevan National Park, will organise a clean-up event in the Sevan Lake area.
The event will be organised with the participation of Gegharkunik marz secondary school teachers and pupils, Young European Ambassadors, and representatives of the regional authorities, the country’s Ministry of Ecology, Sevan National Park and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development Water Committee.
The event was organised in the framework of the EUWI+ “Communication Assistance to Support the Implementation of the Actions Plan for Participative RBM Planning in Armenia” project.
The EUWI+ project assists Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to bring their legislation closer to EU policy in the field of water management, with a main focus on the management of transboundary river basins.
It supports the development and implementation of pilot river basin management plans, building on the improved policy framework and ensuring close participation from local stakeholders.
