TunisiaYoung Mediterranean Voices at youth and employability conference in Cairo
Leading debaters from Egypt have been invited to showcase their work at the “Youth and Employability in MENA: Better Skills, More Jobs” conference taking place in Cairo on 9-10 July. The conference, which aims at helping connect youth to jobs, create new business, or manage periods of unemployment, is co-organised by the Anna Lindh Foundation, the World Bank, CMI, AFD, UNIMED and the Egyptian Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation.
A special session will be held on 10 July as part of the official programme of the conference where five young leaders will discuss the role of job creation in building peaceful societies.
The session is being organised in association with ‘Young Mediterranean Voices’, the region’s flag-ship debate programme that was recently announced for expansion by the European Commission and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Federica Mogherini. Young Mediterranean Voices builds on the success of its forerunner Young Arab Voices, co-created in 2011 by the Anna Lindh Foundation and British Council, and aims to transform youth policy from debate into action with the backing of the EU.
